Choosing the best LMU setup shop is harder than it looks. GoSetups, BeAlien, and Hymo all claim to offer the fastest, most up-to-date setups for Le Mans Ultimate, and the marketing copy is nearly identical across all three. The price difference is small. So how do you choose?

The answer isn't in the marketing copy, it's in the lap times. This site tracks every benchmark lap published by all three shops across every track and car class. The comparison links below pull from the same live database that powers the BoP Tourism tool and update automatically whenever any shop posts a new time.

Fastest Lap Times

GT3 by Track

The GT3 page shows the fastest published benchmark lap from each shop at every available track, with the shop holding the quickest time highlighted in each row.

Judge it on the main layouts first. Of the 31 GT3 tracks we track, 16 are full circuits and the rest are short variants, and 91% of the weekly race slots we log run on a main layout. As of patch V1.4.1.5, Hymo holds the fastest GT3 lap at 12 of those 16, GoSetups at 4, BeAlien at none.

Coverage is the trade, and what counts is how much of it is current. Of the 160 GT3 car and track combinations on main layouts, GoSetups has 147 updated to V1.4.1.5, Hymo 118, BeAlien 99. All three have published the full 160 at some point, so the gap is update speed rather than catalogue. GoSetups is the shop most likely to hand you a lap set on today's BoP, and Hymo is the one most likely to be fastest when it does: it wins 83% of the main-layout combos it contests, against 24% for GoSetups and 8% for BeAlien. The setups page carries that split for every class.

Count all 31 tracks and the headline flips, GoSetups leading 16 to Hymo's 13. That is Hymo's variant policy, not pace: it has entered 7 GT3 combinations on one short variant against 147 for GoSetups and 150 for BeAlien, so at Bahrain Outer or Paul Ricard 3A it is simply not there.

That distribution shifts with every BoP patch: when a new version drops, shops update at different speeds, so the fastest lap for a given car and track can change source overnight.

All Classes

Hypercar, LMP3, LMP2

The same data is available for every class. Each lap is tracked against the BoP patch it was recorded on, so laps from before the current version are flagged automatically.

It does not resolve the same way in every class. On the 16 main layouts at V1.4.1.5, Hymo holds the fastest Hypercar lap at 8 tracks, GoSetups at 6, BeAlien at 2, and LMP3 splits three ways with BeAlien on 6, GoSetups 5, Hymo 5. GT3, where Hymo leads 12 of 16, is its best class rather than its normal one. Current-patch coverage runs the other way throughout: GoSetups keeps 186 of 208 Hypercar combos current against Hymo's 127, and 59 of 64 in LMP3 against 44.

LMP2 has no shop table. The two Orecas are the WEC and ELMS specs of one chassis, so ranking them together would compare separate rulesets.

If you're undecided

The advertised lap time is only part of the picture. Driveability can vary significantly between shops: one shop's setup might suit your style immediately while another's requires constant corrections. The best approach is to try each shop on a car and track you know well, judge how the setup feels over a stint, and pick the one that clicks. Hymo offers a free trial for exactly this.

It's also worth checking the pace tiers to see which tier your own lap lands in against the real driver field. If you're close to gold or alien pace, the tenths separating shop benchmarks genuinely matter. If you're further down the ladder, there's far more time to gain from feeling comfortable and consistent in the car than from squeezing the last bit out of an optimised setup. Focus on driveability first.

Yes. Every benchmark lap from GoSetups, BeAlien, and Hymo is logged whenever each shop publishes an update.

How often do setup shops update their laps?

Quite often, and we track every update automatically. Each time a new lap is detected from any shop it's logged on the activity page. The Discord bot also pushes an announcement every time a new lap is detected, so you don't have to check manually.

Can I see which shop is fastest for my specific car?

Yes. The compare block on the setups page is the best place for this. Pick your car and it shows every available lap from all three shops across all tracks. You can also filter by class and track on the BoP Tourism page to see the full field side by side.

Do I need a subscription to use this comparison?

No. All data on this site is free. The Discord bot also has an extensive free tier. Only a small set of features requires a plus subscription.

Is Hymo available without a Track Titan subscription?

Yes. Hymo is available as a standalone Pro plan at hymosetups.com for €12.99/month VAT incl. Track Titan Ultra ($19.99/month) is a separate bundle that adds telemetry and coaching tools. It is not the only way to access Hymo setups.
